TOTAL DAYS IN GERMANY: 28-29-30-31
TRIP VALENCIA-PALMA MALLORCA-MUNICH
TAKE THAT'S CONCERT: 29th July
28th July (Thursday)
2011 was a great year. After Australia and Sweden I traveled to Germany. This time for
something different: a Take That's concert!!! I'm a fan of Take That
since day one (in 1991) and I love this band's growth but I had never
gone to a concert of them. I only went to a Mark Owen's concert in
Valencia (1997) when he published his first album Green Man.
Many years after that, I had the opportunity to see them... altogether! With Robbie Williams too. For this reason I cannot forget this trip.
I travelled with an old school friend of mine, my friend María Camacho. She wasn't a takie but she wanted to go with me and I thought it would be better than go alone.
We flew with Air Berlin from Valencia to Munich (via Palma de Mallorca) and we spent three nights in Munich. This concert was the last of the tour Progress Live :)
Progress Live (also known as the 20th Anniversary Tour) was the eighth concert tour by British pop group Take That. The tour, sponsored by Samsung, supported their sixth studio album, Progress as they visited major cities in the UK and Europe. It was the first tour to feature all five original members performing together in 15 years and the final tour to feature Jason Orange and Robbie Williams. In its infancy, the tour accomplished many accolades including selling 1.34 million tickets in less than 24 hours.
Before arrive to Munich I spoke with three friends: Esther Zurita (Murcia), Julia Gimeno (Barcelona) and Maria Pb (Palencia) to meet near the Olympiastadion in Munich. We became friends via Facebook long time before and this was a chance to meet in person :) We had to queue for this big show since we arrived there. We joined them and we spent a terrible night trying to sleep without a tent, without nothing! Directly on the cold floor! OMG... The longest night of my life...
-The worst things of this trip were: unfriendly German people in general, not everyone but I have no sympathy for them; the night in the open air and the event's organisation. I didn't like for example that into the stadium, the bathrooms were so far and not enough quantity. However I enjoyed a lot during the show, I saw my idols so close and the concert was really incredible. It was a glorious and unforgettable experience.
The next two days Maria pb, Maria Camacho and me visited the city and we had a great time together :)
-The best things in Munich: clean streets, beautiful buildings, many pedestrian streets and access for dogs everywhere. The problem is there were too many tourists and in my opinion, is uncomfortable walking with so many people! Quite stressful :P

At last, we arrived! These are the first pics of the Olympiastadion and this is the giant robot from Take That's tour (Robbie Williams bought after the tour this 60ft mechanical robot man, nicknamed Om by the band)
There were a fair close to the stadium with many different attractions, market stalls and fair stands. Olympiastadion is a stadium located at the heart of the Olympiapark München in northern Munich, the stadium was built as the main venue for the 1972 Summer Olympics
The Olympiapark in Munich, Germany, is an Olympic Park which was constructed for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Found in the area of Munich known as the "Oberwiesenfeld" ("upper meadow-field"), the Park continues to serve as a venue for cultural, social, and religious events such as events of worship
Of course the Spanish flag wasn't mine xD. I would never have this flag because I'm ashamed of my country but in these events usually the fans take flags of their countries
We bought the dinner in this food stand
The Olympiapark München is one of the most renowned and successful event centres worldwide. The park is located in the modern skyline near BMW and the "Uptown" skyscraper of O2. If you are a fan of the Olympics or just want to see where they came to Munich, you should visit this Olympic Park
It's a beautiful park with many lakes, bike paths, eateries and several sites for sporting activities, the most important is the football arena: Olympiastadion. But you can also take advantage of their swimming center and even an ice rink. The Olympic Park is a hotbed for activities and live events year-round
This is the place where we slept (I only got about 1 hour of sleep)
Other fans better equipped than us xD
María Pb and me... We were going to the toilet.
OMG... At night the weather was so cold! In in midsummer!!!
Going back to... try to sleep
The most crazy fans. Attention to my pillow xD. The stone floor was so uncomfortable!!!
Spanish fans are different xD

The worst moment was when I ran to get the best place but I lost sight of my friends. Well, even was worse when I went to the toilet, and there were thousands of people wanting to go... After that, was almost impossible to arrive to my place but finally I got to be in the third row and watch Take That closely... Despite all, the suffering was worth it

And to star... the 'special guests' were: Pet Shop Boys opening the show! PSB OPENING FOR TAKE THAT! Two of the best British bands. I felt really lucky to be there!
Pet Shop Boys were very special guests on Take That's Progress Live 2011 Tour.
Pet Shop Boys commented: We are delighted to accept Take That’s invitation to be part of their Progress show and tour which is undoubtedly going to be one of the most exciting events of 2011. We look forward to every night being a huge celebration of pop music.

Neil and Chris took to the stage at 19:15 and performed a 40-minute set of highlights from their "Pandemonium" show. Pet Shop Boys were joined onstage by the four dancer/singers from the "Pandemonium" tour and, for "West End girls", by eight of Take That's dancers (including Nathan Holliday who performed in the "Fundamental" tour).
Robbie Williams commented: I’m a huge Pet Shop Boys fan so for me it will be an absolute joy to be able to watch them every night.
Jason Orange added: I’m flattered and very happy they’ve agreed to do it. They’re so talented; I thought they’d be above it and us.
Pet Shop Boys was the first CD I ever bought said Gary Barlow. I've followed their whole career and always loved their unique approach to records and live performance. That combined with two lovely people means we’re in for a great tour.

Hello Munich!
The countdown is ending
Less than half a minute!
The final night of the Europe-wide tour took place in Munich on July 29th and I was there!
The five together for the last time! I took a lot of photos that you can see on this blog. Hope you enjoy them ;-)
Gary, Mark, Jason and Howard open the show before welcoming Robbie onstage.
They’d obviously chosen their first two songs carefully – 'Rule the World' and 'Greatest Day' summing up the feelings of the ecstatic audience.

TAKE THAT took to the stage at
20:30 to start the show to a deafening crowd reception starting as they
meant to finish, with their biggest hit to date ‘Rule The World’
Almost immediately they danced down the runway to the centre stage,
giving thousands of fans (like me) the opportunity to get close to their heroes. They were so close!
They then delivered four more of their biggest songs as a four piece including: ‘Greatest Day’ (including a huge yellow confetti canon blast), ‘Hold Up A Light’, ‘Patience’ and ‘Shine’ (which saw the band joined onstage by an Alice in Wonderland style dancing cast of dancing trees, roller-skating bees and huge caterpillar)
In a shower of confetti
