8-Scotland: 13th May 2017 - TAKE THAT - GLASGOW SSE HYDRO + TT AFTERPARTY

13th May 2017 (Saturday)

My pictures of the concert (first line)

The big day finally came! The day of the concert... and the first rainy day

Selfies in the mirror... 😃

Rainy morning

Charging my phone's and camera's battery...  Two UK Plugs Adaptors. I used one the hotel lent me and I needed another one... I asked in reception but they did not have another one. Then, one hotel's customer who listened us, left the hotel and brought to me one! I had been talking to him while we were waiting at the hotel reception... A polite and friendly Scottish man

This walkway (and cyclepath), which links the Exhibition Centre train station at Minerva Street with the SECC / The Hydro is locally known as "the caterpillar"

The SSE Hydro! We arrived early in the morning...

The rain became even more intense...

Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) - Clyde Auditorium...
This auditorium is simply locally known at "The Armadillo"

Queuing to enter...

The SEC Centre (originally known as the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre) is Scotland's largest exhibition centre, located in the district of Finnieston on the north bank of the River Clyde, Glasgow. It is one of the three main venues within the Scottish Event Campus... Since the opening of the original buildings in 1985, the complex has undergone two major expansions; the first being the SEC Armadillo in 1997, and then the SSE Hydro in 2013. The venue's holding company SEC Limited, is 91% owned by Glasgow City Council and 9% owned by private investors. It is probably best known for hosting concerts, particularly in Hall 4 and Hall 3

The Park Bar, typical of many of Glasgow's pubs, sits at the corner of a sandstone tenement... I suppose the idea behind such a corner position was you had two frontages facing two streets and therefore had more of a chance of being spotted by passers-by. The sandstone in this case is white, or cream, or yellowish, this colour being generally earlier in date than tenements made from red sandstone. Wording on the facade indicates it was established in 1895, and there's every chance the tenement is older and the site was a licensed premises for a little longer. Today, the interior has a traditional layout with very much a flavour of Scotland

The tree seen in this pic is well known landmark on Argyle Street.
It's an ash tree, it has a preservation order on it and is at least 150 years old
