Passion, Love, Sardinia!
Passion, Love, Sardinia!
My last day in Cagliari was one of the best. I participated in Sardinia Dream Tour Activity from the Monte dei Sette Fratelli to Villasimius! I went to the school at 9:15 and 15 minutes later arrived the Jeep driven by Francesco, the guide. We were of different nationalities: a woman from Argentina, a French couple, a couple from USA, another two from Ireland and me from Spain. Francesco spoke mostly in English but also French, Italian and Spanish... And he was explaining everything from the beginning.
Minicar parked in front of the school
Sardinian bank
A shop in Via Sonnino
Already inside the Jeep
Francesco at the wheel ^^
The adventure begins!
First, the mountain section
Our first stop
The second stop. Tomba dei Giganti Is Concias, also called Sa Domu 'e s'Orku
Entrance of the tomb
Let's go for it!
Il Nuraghe, la Torre! The nuraghe is the main type of ancient megalithic edifice found in Sardinia, developed during the Nuragic Age between 1900 and 730 BCE. Today it has come to be the symbol of Sardinia and its distinctive culture, the Nuragic civilization
Climbing the tower
We continued our tour
At last, the sea!
After the inaccessible roads around Monte Dei Fratelli ... we were approaching the sea!
The Protected Marine Area of Capo Carbonara
The territory of Villasimius, and especially its sea and its coasts are one with the Protected Marine Area of Capo Carbonara: a nature reserve, institutionally protected for over 10 years and recognized internationally for its pristine environment, the Fauna, Flora, the beautiful meadows of Posidonia and the unique characteristics of an ecosystem unique in the Mediterranean
We made a brief stop to walk into a food shop, but it was not exactly a supermarket. We went to the public toilets and came back after a few minutes to reach the beach of Porto Giunco, one of the many beaches of Villasimius <3
First pictures before reaching the beach
Info from the municipality of Villasimius about its project "Interventi di tutela e salvaguardia dei sistemi dunari nel Sito di Importanza Comunitaria di Isola dei Caveli, Serpentara e Punta Molentis"
Some of Sardinia's most
sensational beaches are to be found in the vicinity of the traditional
coastal village of Villasimius. Located near Villasimius harbour.
Spiaggia di Porto Giunco counts as one of Sardinia’s most beautiful
beaches. Its crystal clear water and gleaming white sand making it a
rare find, even on an island so replete with natural wonders.
Towards Cape Carbonara, the sand dunes give way to another coastal jewel, the salt water lake Timi Ama, where with a bit of luck you might catch a glimpse of pink flamingos. And oftentimes leaping dolphins can be seen offshore from a boat or even from Cape Carbona itself.
Also well worth a visit is the swimming bay Cala Pira, just off the road to Costa Rei opposite the island of Serpentara, where an intoxicating combination of aromatic maquis and glistening white strand will bring the most urbane of urbanites back to nature. One of Sardinia’s 7.000 nuraghis stands watching over the bay, bearing mute testimony to the most ancient of times. The sea here looks like a freshly cleaned sheet of glass: it’s only in the distance that you catch a glimpse of gleaming azure.
Spiaggia di Campulongu, west of the Capo Carbonara light house, is the perfect place to catch the sun bidding adieu for the day as the beach faces west. This gloriously long stretch of pristine sand is a popular venue for wind surfers, and though well stocked with sun worshipers in summer, never feels crowded

Spiaggia di Porto Giunco / Porto Giunco Beach: The stunning beach located in the south-east side of Capo Carbonara, under the Porto Giunco Tower
Paradise on Earth
From the time I was in Australia, I haven't seen these type of wonderful beaches
Sardinia is famous for its crystalline waters and fine sand beaches
Having a great time on the beach
To the water, ducks!
Enjoying the sea and the sunshine
It was a delight swimming here!
Though the flag was red was safe swimming near the shore
ANCH'IO AMO PORTO GIUNCOOOO!!!!!!
Visit to the second beach! Spiaggia di Campulongu (also in Villasimius), just over 2 kilometers from Villasimius village, in front of the little village of Simius
A French traveling companion
And a good companion from Argentina
Our jeep
Francesco (the funny guide) and me
Tutti insieme!!! From USA, ARGENTINA, SPAIN, FRANCE and IRELAND!
All good things come to an end... Return to the city
We arrived at 17:30 aprox. I was the second to get out of the car. I said goodbye to everyone and Francesco gave us a postcard from Sardinia Dream Tour and card with your Facebook, etc. I paid 35 euros and went home to finish to pack, shower, etc. I enjoyed a lot the adventure with Sardinia Dream Tour. I could see mountains, wild places ... go to the Parco dei Sette Fratelli, swim at beaches that have nothing to envy to those of Caribbean, take photos and more photos, etc.
Simona and Joseph took me by car to the Airport
We arrived at the airport
Last pictures in Cagliari before go back to Spain
I bought the last souvenirs xD
Finally at Manises (Valencia) Airport.
The flight arrived almost an hour late ... About a quarter to twelve at night
