9- Northern Portugal. 17th March 2018- Match Day (derby Porto vs Boavista)

The Happy Porto Hostel. Saturday morning...

Walking along the Douro River in Ribeira is a must...

I thoroughly enjoyed my walks in Porto

And... Ready for a great night of football in Portugal
with an Irish friend who I met at the hostel!

Estádio do Dragão Metro Station

The surrounding roads. Access by vehicle is possible through the VCI (Via de Cintura Interna),
a roadway that passes right next to the stadium, granting a direct connection

Estádio do Dragão was built to provide FC Porto with a modern home and Euro 2004
with one of its flagship venues. It replaced FC Porto’s old Estádio das Antas

We went to watch Porto against Boavista. I bought my ticket on Porto official store for 20 euros.
The stadium is absolutely amazing. I would definitely go there again...

The area around Estadio do Dragao is a mix of offices, retail, and residential buildings, a shopping centre, a selection of food court restaurants and coffee shops, a cinema...

All merchandise you would like to buy from FC Porto is present...

Teddy bears

FC Porto scarves

Dolls

Jackets, polos and t-shirts (I bought the 2 t-shirts of the second picture)

The FC Porto Museum, officially known as FC Porto Museum by BMG, is a museum located in Porto, dedicated to the history of the Portuguese association football club FC Porto. The museum also includes an auditorium, a club store, a coffeehouse, and spaces for educational services and temporary exhibition

Waiting for the bifana... You cannot leave Porto without trying bifanas xD. In Portugal, especially in the Porto region, you will find a lot of sandwiches whose role it is to provide a quick meal

One of the main sandwiches in the country is the bifana. Simply put, it’s steak sandwich. A pork steak, to be more specific, seasoned with garlic and spices, then put inside a bread roll... My Irish friend invited me... I didn't want! I have to lose weight, ha ha...

FC Porto stayed two points ahead of Benfica at the top of the Portuguese league after both teams won on Saturday.

Sergio Oliveira had a late goal disallowed in bizarre fashion after he made two touches of the ball before scoring a penalty as Porto beat visiting Boavista 2-0. Title rival Benfica also won 2-0 at nine-man Feirense.

Porto got off to a good start when Felipe netted after two minutes by heading home Oliveira’s cross. Hector Herrera doubled the lead in the 62nd.

Beautiful pics of Porto at night. Always with my camera ready,
because every corner of Porto is outrageously photogenic
