VISITING THE SWAN BELL TOWER
This day we're visiting the Bell Tower (Naslhy, Ana and me)
The Bell Tower on Riverside Drive
This tower is an icon for Perth and Western Australia
Before getting into the tower
And now... pictures from the tower
There are 6 levels to the tower, well 7 if you include the entry foyer -
Entry level - tubular bells, Mark Creasy Turret Clock and gift shop
Level 1 - Bellringing chamber
Level 2 - Viewing gallery for bellringing & exhibition displays
Level 3 - Patrons toilet
Level 4 - Belfry with close up viewing of the St Martin-in-the-Fields bells
Level 5 - The Mark Creasy Turret clock bells
Level 6 - Open air observation deck, steel walkway with 360 degree view and a coin operated telescope
Standing at 82.5 meters (which is quite short for a tower), there are six floors in this tower and the view from the observation deck on the top is magnificent, overlooking the Swan River on one end and the city behind
Info about the oldest bell in Australia- The Upton Grey Bell cast over 450 years ago in approximately 1550, was once one four that rang out from the tower of the parish church at Upton Grey in Hampshire, England
